St. Mary’s CWL, Lindsay – World Day of Prayer
As this year’s theme was ~ Come, Everything is Ready ~ a procession started off the prayer service bringing up to the prepared table at the front of the church, the articles needed for our Agape meal which included dishes of a mixture of milk and honey, bread, grapes and olives.
Our choir led the hymns, prayers were offered, and stories of Slovenian women were told. Our knowledge of the country of Slovenia and the women’s hardships was broadened in scope with Donna Moore, Peterborough Diocesan Spiritual Chair as our guest speaker . How blessed the Roman Catholic Slovenians are, (approximately 60% of the country) for their strong faith in our Lord.
All the attendees were invited for refreshments afterwards for a social time, with discussions of the Slovenian Prayer Service encouraged amongst the hundred or so women.
Let us show continued support to one another on the path of freedom, justice and peace. Watch for next year’s prayers to be written by the women of Zimbabwe.

At their January 16th meeting, the packages were presented to guest speaker Carly Veitch of the Boys and Girls Club of Kawartha Lakes who enlightened us about the many services they offer for homeless youth and teens through their warehouse program. A financial donation was presented to Carly in support of their programs.

You are invited as CWL members, in fact as church parishes, to join in the Rosary Coast To Coast For Life And Faith. We begin with the 54 day Novena starting on August 15, the Feast Day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and continue on daily until October 7, the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary. The culmination of this Novena is when the Rosary will be said around the world.
We have permission to use St. Mary’s Church here in Lindsay on Sunday October 7 at 3pm for a Rosary Hour. Come and join in. For those outside our area please consider, with your priest’s permission and joining you on October 7th. You can join up your church like St. Mary’s Lindsay on the link below (click on the portion of the map for Canada). There is also a place on the homepage on the link below of The Holy League of Nations to sign up to have the daily Novena prayers e-mailed to your in box so you won’t forget.
By joining in this united front in the worldwide spiritual battle we are defending the dignity of the human person – life, marriage, family and religious freedom. What has started out as a Rosary Hour for Canada and the US has now become a world wide rolling Rosary on October 7, along the coasts and borders of countries in our churches and other areas for those who do not live near a coast, all around the world preceded by the 54 day Novena.
Together we can make a difference – please join us in prayer.
Dear Lord we pray, that through the powerful intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary, to heal our countries and return them to Holiness. Amen.
